British war crimes are crimes committed by the armed forces of the United Kingdom from its formation in 1707 to the present day. In this context, the term “war crime” had a broad definition, including both officially sanctioned acts and the independent actions of individuals during active service, both before and after the introduction of the laws of war. Actions that have been labelled “war crimes” range from independent actions of individual soldiers, such as the abuse of prisoners in the Iraq War, to officially sanctioned actions such as the bombing of Dresden in 1945.

Thousands of documents detailing some of the most shameful acts and crimes committed during the final years of the British empire were systematically destroyed to prevent them falling into the hands of post-independence governments, an official review has concluded.Those papers that survived the purge were flown discreetly to Britain where they were hidden for 50 years in a secret Foreign Office archive, beyond the reach of historians and members of the public, and in breach of legal obligations for them to be transferred into the public domain.

UK Soldier ‘Beheaded’ Near Barracks By ‘Man Who Praised Allah After Cleaver Attack’

LONDON — Two suspected Islamist terrorists have been shot after a soldier was allegedly beheaded in south east London, just 200 yards from an army barracks.

The victim – who was wearing a Help For Heroes t-shirt – was said to have been attacked by two men armed with knives, including a meat cleaver.

One of the alleged killers said after the incident: “We swear by almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you”, witnesses said.

Eyewitnesses said the killers were “hacking” at the victim “like a piece of meat”, according to The Sun newspaper.

The men reportedly waited for 20 minutes until police arrived and were shot while trying to attack the officers. Passersby bravely tended to the victim while the attackers paced back and forth. British news reports said the attack occurred after a car accident.

Meanwhile, chilling footage has emerged of a man with bloodied hands and carrying knives speaking into a camera, reportedly moments after the attack.

“We swear by almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you…Your people will never be safe,” the man says.

“In our land our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe.

“Remove your governments they don’t care about you.

“You think David Cameron is going to get caught in the street when we start busting our guns you think politicians are going to die? No it’s going to be the average guy, like you, and your children.

“So get rid of them. Tell them to bring our troops back so can all live in peace.”

A cascading failure is a failure in a system of interconnected parts in which the failure of a part can trigger the failure of successive parts. Such a failure may happen in many types of systems, including power transmission, computer networking, finance and bridges.

Cascading failures usually begin when one part of the system fails. When this happens, nearby nodes must then take up the slack for the failed component. This overloads these nodes, causing them to fail as well, prompting additional nodes to fail in a vicious cycle.

Wandervogel is the name adopted by a popular movement of German youth groups from 1896 onward. The name can be translated as rambling, hiking, or wandering bird (differing in meaning from “Zugvogel” or migratory bird) and the ethos is to shake off the restrictions of society and get back to nature and freedom. Soon the groups split and there originated ever more organisations, which still all called themselves Wandervogel, but were organisationally independent. Nonetheless the feeling was still of being a common movement, but split into several branches.

Bhagat Singh was an Indian socialist considered to be one of the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement. He is often referred to as Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the word “Shaheed” meaning “martyr” in a number of Indian languages. Born into a Sikh family which had earlier been involved in revolutionary activities against the British Raj, as a teenager Singh studied European revolutionary movements and was attracted to anarchist and Marxist ideologies. He became involved in numerous revolutionary organisations, and quickly rose through the ranks of the Hindustan Republican Association (HRA) to become one of its main leaders, eventually changing its name to the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA) in 1928.
